The heavy criticism cropping up for Maryam Nawaz on the way she has chosen to dress for her son's wedding as well as her age, makes one thing very clear: Pakistan is a man's world.

Despite Maryam's calls for respecting her family's privacy during Junaid Safdar's wedding festivities, Pakistani Twitterati had a field day.

From complaints about the venue being too decked up, to pulling out all stops when it came to displaying internalized misogyny, the comments had it all.

Meanwhile some people were concerned about tax payer money being used for Maryam's plastic surgeries.

Some decided to throw ageism into the mix, accusing Maryam of trying to upstage the bride.

At the end of the day, we are here for the looks Maryam served at the wedding and agree with social media users who say when it comes to politics, women tend to get attacked for their looks.

And that haters gonna hate.
