Web Desk: Pakistan’s stunning singer Atif Aslam is liked by Pakistanis and Indian as a singer. He is considered as well-known and the greatest singer of film industry. But recently, Bollywood singer demanded to ban Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in India for being Pakistanis.
A Bollywood film-maker came forward and accepted Atif Aslam’s talent and also expressed his likeness for Atif’s songs.
Director Sudhir Mishta said, “Like all singers, Atif has the capacity to bring out the emotional depth of a song, but is never sentimental.”
“The words are articulated so brilliantly but there is a touch of mystery. It has the capacity to mean different things to the listener at different times,” he added.
His comments came amidst Union Minister Babul Supriyo’s suggestion to temporarily ban Pakistan artists from working in the Hindi film industry.
Supriyo said, “Atif as an artist sounds great in Dil Diya Gallan and Rahat is a great singer too. But it’s important to clarify that our problem is not with the artists Atif or Rahat, but with their Pakistani nationality. It’s not a political stand but probably the families who have lost their sons, brothers, fathers would feel a lot better should the entire country show solidarity in any manner possible.”
“Bollywood is an integral part of that Indianism. It represents India worldwide, hence banning Pakistani artists in Indian films would have also taken the protest against organised terrorism by the rogue nation, worldwide. And, I very clearly recall that such a promise was made when Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had met protests due to Fawad Khan,” he added.
